1. The
Sexuarium looks for the optimization of the sexual pleasure
within the frame of legality.
The
sexual pleasure is the non-material centre of gravity (as it is by a
ring) in between of the real, carnal and visible phenomena we know as
sex. More or less, we all know this pleasurable, libidinous focus of
our psyche; and while we cannot (and should not) do away with its
magnetism and its all permeating (as the relict radiation)
attractiveness - continuing in the metaphors - we should care lest it
will turn into a black hole of our life.
2. The term "sexuarium" was coined by Dr L. van Weck Erlen more than 100 years ago, and it was recently proliferated by Alex Comfort in his The New Joy of Sex.
Originally, I was pondering to create a virtual Garden of Love according to G. de Lorris' Le Roman de la Rose, yet there was appearing the gap between the Mediaeval courtly love and the contemporary carnal practice, which should have been filled up. So I was glad to come across the term "sexuarium" which fits my interest.
You can arrange different implementations of the sexuarium, according to your belief and taste: what I suggest you here, on this site, is but my implementation.(*) What is valuable, it is your personal creativity, within your conditions and preferences. (* In this sense, to put the word "sexuarium" is incorrect concerning the web traditions, since it is a generic word.)
3. The excuse for using the generic word "sexuarium" is the ".eu" which makes evident the Euro-perspective. If we are even more exact, we should specify that the perspective of this project is Central European and post-Christian perspective (or inter-Christian, in case the churches catch up with the development).
4. Besides the sexual pleasure and legality, all the other key-words related to sexuality can enter the game, yet they are not as essential as the two mentioned ones.
Therefore, we can ask about the prevention of the STD's - which is already included in the concept of legality.
As for the conceptive sex for a pregnancy, it is up to the decision of the persons involved. In the context of this site it is more relevant to ask whether they want to make their children in higher or lower pleasure and better or worse conditions. While the family-planning would be a topic of interest during some meetings in the sexuarium, the sexuarium is not focused at the family planning questions and does not give any other clue to its audience than their own reason with the respect to the general humanity, to the Earth and to the prosperity of the children.
The sexuarium can serve also as an educative institution. Anyhow, we can attain the information about sexuality from many different books and web-sites.
As well, it would be nice if the sexuarium helps the stability of marriage. Yet, even concerning this question the sexuarium does not contest the sex-councelling.
5. On the other hand, the sexuarium can operate as a research place about the human sexual pleasure.
6. The sexuarium is for those persons who feel the conditions for their sexual satisfaction not enough proper and who consider the empty space between the legality and the legal frame.
Let us remind that the sexuaria-makers should abide even to the spirit of the laws in their countries, not merely to seek the weak and vulnerable places in the laws. Anyhow, the persons interested in sex more in depth can come to an opinion that some law should be changed: in this case they should lobby for an update of the law overtly and correctly.
